We have a colouring in illustration provided by local artist and award-winning children’s book author Mat Tait, to celebrate the recent release of his new pukapuka tamariki, Kupe and Te Wheke a Muturangi.
The competition is open from the 1st to the 30th June 2026, with entries being submitted any time during the month of June, and winners will be announced in early July.
The competition has three categories:
Children Aged 7 Years Old and under
Children Aged Between 8 and 13 Years Old
Adults and Young People 14 Years Old and above
There are a range of prizes available including:
Exclusive limited merchandise from Kōpū including tees, totes and badges.
Copies of Mats book about Kupe and Te Wheke a Muturangi in Te Reo and English.
An exclusive sneak peak and behind the scenes tour of the new Te Wheke a Muturangi playspace under construction.
The chance to be the first to play on the playspace with an invite to the opening.
A $50 Prezi card for the winner of each category and a range of other spot prizes.
Winners will be selected by Mat Tait himself and announced via the Kōpū Facebook and Instagram.
